The Best Robot Hoover
The most effective robot hoover will vacuum and mop without needing your attention. It leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detector) are both positives.
Check your robot's brushes regularly for tangled debris and hair. Wash them if needed. Some models also self-empty their onboard dustbin into a larger bin at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've test. They have top-of-the-line motors that can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they utilize smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans that avoid common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it sees an abundance of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned quickly.
Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors and are particularly effective in removing pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our first option. One of the flaws of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.
Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and you can use it while you're at work, or going to school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. If you want to, you can switch the mopping pad for dry ones in just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it quick to clean and effective at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also comes with a powerful suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, however it's not as good as other hoovers in terms of deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensor technology that can avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to offer cleaner and more efficient cleaning. You can change its cleaning schedule and set up zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average compared to other models.

Its obstacle detection was superb, and it avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles cables.
It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. robotvacuummops can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek circular design that appears more like a normal Roomba than the competitors' boxes this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive designs in our evaluations. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It has advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score 100% in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully self-refill and empty its base station, and it has an its own self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an intuitive mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work or in the evening when you are trying to sleep.
It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are similarly capable and look better. If you're willing to live with a little more noise and a little more cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with many advanced features that let you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine, similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and fills up the water tank, and cleans and drys the mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than its more expensive rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazards detection however this was not foolproof in our tests and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.
The vacuum cleaner comes with an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to do the job. The RX3 is more advanced than its price suggests. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using a single pad and a reciprocating movement which is cleaner than the majority of the robot mop cleaners that we've tested. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to improve performance. The app also gives access to a host of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
